RIFLE. Cal. 54. NSN. This is an attractive example of the popular brass mounted Mississippi rifle, lock has eagle over "US" and at tail vertically "HARPERS / FERRY / 1849". CONDITION: very good, appears complete including sling swivels and brass tipped ramrod. The bbl has been cleaned and buffed to a bright gray patina with no discernible proofs, lock markings fine, sound stock, mottled dark mustard brass patina, mechanics are fine, bore has been reamed to .56 caliber smooth bore. (01-30089/JS). ANTIQUE. $1,200-1,800.
